A konferencia célja, hogy segítse a Pécs Európa
Kulturális Fővárosa pályázat egyik prioritásaként
megfogalmazott kortárs művészeti intézet koncipiálását.
A konferencia anyagából kiadványt készítünk
(nyomtatott formában és a weben), valamint a pályázat
számára fogalmazunk meg egy ajánlást. A
rendezvény tematikáját és a meghívott
előadókat e céloktól vezérelve igyekeztünk
összeválogatni.
A műhelykonferencia tematikája
A programban több kérdéskört igyekeztünk
megjeleníteni. Ezek egy része a Kunsthalle-típusú
és a "nagy", gyűjteményes kiállítóhelyek,
intézmények működésére/működtetésére,
fenntartására, nemzetközi mozgásterére,
pénzügyi-személyügyi feltételeire vonatkozik.
Egy másik megközelítés a művészeti
együttműködésekre és azok fenntarthatóságára
irányulnak, valamint a működés/működtetés
funkcionális alapelveire. Ezzel együtt azok a kérdések
izgalmasak számunkra, melyek az egyes programok finanszírozási
lehetőségeivel, szervezeti kereteivel, valamint az intézményi
működtetés egyes specifikus kérdéseivel foglalkoznak.
Egy további izgalmas területnek a kortárs művészet
és a műkereskedelem környezetének bemutatása
ígérkezik - hazai, európai és egy tágabb
nemzetközi kitekintéssel. Mindezekkel egyenrangú
kérdésként igyekeztünk megjeleníteni
és hangsúlyozni a kortárs művészeti kutatások
szerepét, fontosságát; ez a kérdéskör
is a műhelykonferencia egyik vezérmotívuma. Végezetül
meghagytunk egy "szabad sávot" egyes független
megközelítéseknek: így a közterek művészeti
célú hasznosítása, a köztéri
művészet, az új-média intézményesülése,
a kortárs művészeti publicisztika, a művészetpedagógia,
a közönség- és médiakapcsolatok kérdése
is hívószóként szolgál.
The aim of the conference is to assist in the drafting of a contemporary
art institute, laid out as one of the priorities of the ‘European
Capital of Culture’ application of the city of Pécs. From the
material gained at the conference we will prepare a publication, (print
and online versions) and will draft a recommendation for the application.
Our intention is to do our best to pick relevant topics and to invite speakers
according to these goals.
We intended to discuss several questions in the programme. A part of the lectures concerns the operation, the maintenance, the international latitude and the financial and personal conditions of “large” institutions and exhibition halls of collections, such as Kunsthalle. Another approach aims at the artistic co-operations and their sustainability, as well as the basic principles of their operation. Besides these topics, we are interested in questions concerning the possibilities for financing certain programmes, also, the organizational frames, and some specific questions of the institutional operation of these projects. Another exciting area seems to be the presentation of the environment of contemporary art and the trade of artworks – with a national, European and a wider international outlook.
We have attempted to treat these topics as equally important, and to emphasise the role and importance of contemporary art research – this topics is one of the main motifs of the workshop conference.
Last, but not least, we have left an “open sector” to some independent approaches, such as the artistic utilisation of public places, the art in public places, the institutionalisation of the new media, contemporary art and essays, art pedagogy, and the question of public and media relations.
